My teenage years differ from most of my friends because I've gone to three different high schools. In four years I have moved to three different states. Most teenagers stay in one city if not one state for most of their lives. Not me. I moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina because my parents bought two restaurants here. One called Omega Pancake House and the other Called Spring House. Both breakfast places which i honestly think was a good investment because with the amount of drunk tourist that come through the city and party the business never dies. Well with that business going so well they decided to buy a Hotel called Sea Banks. Everything is family owned and my grandparents sure hate outsiders and paying others for their services so most of my teenage days i was either waitressing or dealing with the rude people at the hotel. Most teenaged go out and explore or whatever it is you guys do, well not me. I had it a bit different. Coming from a International background nothing i did was the same as my other friends. work first then play. Worst part of it was that i didn't even get paid to work! Of course i got everything i ever asked for but it wasn't the same. Sometimes i would of like to fight with my grandma and mom for something instead of always getting it right away. You could say my teenage years were a lot different than the kids i grew up around.
I wouldn't say i had a bad childhood. My family made me realize the real world as a young kid. I learned how to handle money and the cost of things are more expensive then they seem. Most teenagers would spend their parents money on stupid little things but I was raised differently. Yes I got almost everything I wanted but we sure worked really hard for everything we had. Not most teenagers have that concept, but I did.
